Harry sat with Ginny, his arm around her shoulder. They sat by the lake, watching the giant squid propel itself around the shimmering water.
"It's strange," Ginny said, looking up at him, "It's strange that I don't have to worry about anything anymore."
Harry looked down at her. This was one of those times when he felt good, proud for defeating Voldemort.
"Yeah, I know. I'm so used to being on the move with Ron and Hermione." Harry said, absentmindedly stroking her hair.
"What was it like?" Ginny asked, looking up at him, curiosity lighting up her bright brown eyes.
Harry took a deep breath. He'd never liked answering questions like these. He didn't like to remember the times when the world was in a constant flow of chaos. But he owed it to Ginny, after all.
"It wasn't pleasant, Gin. We were fighting all the time, and Ron actually left for a while, but he came back," Harry added hastily, because Ginny was sporting a look of pure outrage, "But we pulled through, in the end. I couldn't have done it without them."
Ginny sighed. "It wasn't easy, knowing you were out there. Knowing that there was a good chance of you being captured and killed at any given moment."
Harry looked down at her, and then fully realized how tough Ginny really was. What would he have done, had their situations been switched around? He would have gone mad, not knowing what was happening to her.
"I had to do it, Gin. I didn't like it, either," He said quietly.
"I know, Harry. I know how hard it must be for you, to see all the families of the people who went down fighting." She said meaningfully, looking up at him. "But Harry, don't blame yourself, because they certainly don't. To them, to everyone, you're the hero. And all those people ... they died for the greater good."
Harry leaned down and kissed her forehead. "Ginny, I don't know what I'd do without you."
Ginny smiled at him. "Well, you'd have to make your own sandwiches, which I am so kind to make for you, and you wouldn't have-"
Harry cut her off, laughing. "Alright, alright! I get it. You're awesome. Happy?"
"No. Kiss me, then we'll see." She said wryly, and Harry leaned down, and pressed his lips to hers. His hands entangled in her sweet-smelling hair, and she let out a sigh of contentment. Everything was ... perfect.
"Harry!" A voice shouted, and the sound of running footsteps came with it. "Harry, I need to talk to you!"
Harry pulled away from Ginny, and turned to look at Luna Lovegood running towards them, her eyes bright with excitement.
"How've you been?" She asked, looking at Harry with mild concern. Harry stood up and brushed dirt off of his jeans.
"Fine, thanks. You?" He asked, staring at her quizzically. Why had she chosen this moment to come and say hello?
"I've been fine, much better since the end of the War. Everyone's so much happier!" She said, smiling dreamily.
"Well, what was it you wanted to talk to me about, Luna?" Harry asked, trying not to be rude.
"Oh, right! Well, you've been such a good friend to me, Harry. It was nice, having Dumbledore's Army, and such good friends. So I want to give you something special!" Smiling dreamily, she rummaged in on of the pockets in her skirt, and finally pulled something out. She dropped it in Harry's hand, smiling.
Harry opened his hand to see a tiny, small gold charm on a simple gold chain. Suddenly, the gold of the charm flashed, and he saw the face of Sirius, laughing and grinning mischievously. Suddenly, the face changed to that of Tonks, who winked and smiled at him happily. Then the face of Remus Lupin appeared, who nodded at him and smiled. Then, finally, he saw his Mum and Dad, smiling happily at Harry. Then the necklace flashed, and the surface of the necklace was plain, smooth gold again. Harry blinked in shock, and finally looked up at Luna.
"Well, you might not like it, I just thought that those people meant a lot for you, because you took it fairly hard when you lost them. You don't have to wear it, if you don't want to. But you could just keep it in your pocket. Do you like it?" Luna said, looking at him with a strange mix of worry and dreamy.
"Luna, it's great!" Harry said enthusiastically. "This is one of the best presents I've ever gotten!"
Luna smiled happily at Harry, and stepped forward and hugged him. Harry hugged her back, knowing that he was lucky to have Luna Lovegood as a friend.

Always
"Stay close to me," he had said as they walked down the crowded corridor. The girl clutched his hand tightly as he pulled her closer. They were now walking shoulder to shoulder. He could feel her breath on his cheek. They began to walk faster, moving quickly and silently through the crowd of blank faces. Up ahead he thought he saw one of his friends move swiftly out of view. He shook his head. He had no friends here.
"Harry?" Harry stopped. The hand he had been holding was gone. There was no warm breath on his cheek, and there was no one in the corridor.
"Ginny?" He called back, trying to keep the terror from his voice. Nothing. Not even th

Fireplace
The fireplace crackled warmly as Hermione kneeled down in front of it, stoking the flames, much like she remembered her father doing while she and her mother sat on the sofa years ago. When she and Ron were picking out a house, it was her requirement that it have a fireplace; her best memories of her childhood were spent basking in the glow of the fire.
She sat back down and smiled at the memory as the warmth of the fire spread over her. Spending her first Christmas in a long time away from her parents made the memory all the more precious. She closed her eyes and saw her father sit down next to her and her mother. He ruffled her frizzy hair

ALRIGHT. I've had this idea for ages and first, it was going to be Luna just giving him the butterbeer cork necklace. Then, while writing it, I decided to change it! I like this version better, myself.
JK Rowling owns the characters, I'm just taking them out for a coffee.
